Mission Statement

We are a non-profit organisation based in the UK, raising funds for The Girls Home, based in Granada, Nicaragua.

The Girls Home is a home for Social Orphans, often victims of abuse, neglect or abject poverty. We aim to keep them safe and educate them, until the day comes when they can return to a family member. This doesnt always happen and they are welcome to stay until college age.

Description

We accept girls between 4-16 years old. Curently there are 26 girls in the home. We have 2 educators who live on site, a social worker, and a Physcologist. The home is run by an order of nuns called Madre Albertina and has been open for 16 years.

The girls are taught to look after themselves by washing their own clothes and with cleaning tasks around the home.

They need a vast amount of help with homework, as some girls have never studied before entering the home,
