Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We are special district - like a school or fire district - dedicated to conserving the soil and water resources of Multnomah County east of the Willamette River. We are funded by tax dollars and grants and governed by an elected board of directors. Find out more about us at our website www.emswcd.org or stop in and say hi!
SWCDs are non-regulatory and are not involved with enforcement of environmental laws. Instead we use a cooperative, non-regulatory approach to voluntary natural resource conservation. SWCDs provide outreach, education, and technical assistance about conservation to rural and urban landowners. Technical assistance is available with pasture management, erosion control, invasive weed control, manure management, nutrient management, forest stand improvement, riparian area restoration, native tree and shrub establishment, and wildlife habitat management. Our services are provided free of charge, including site visits.
