Description
Ready, Willing...Enable! (RWE) is a very new charitable organization. It's two founders, Edwin Blanton and Jennifer Catron are both Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who served in the Commonwealth of Dominica . Together, they identified a need and a want, and work towards putting those two things together. First they realized that disabled persons in developing countries are often not treated equally because of their disabilities. These persons are often denied education, jobs, and social status. Second, Edwin & Jennifer realized that when they returned to the United States, there were many Americans who had this "want" to go overseas and do volunteer work, but because of commitments (time, family, financial, etc.) they were unable to make the long-term commitment that programs such as Peace Corps can require. RWE's founders believed that volunteers with short assignments could also feel some of the internal benefits typically associated with long-term assignments, if the volunteers were given the proper support. Edwin and Jennifer looked at the talents they possessed, and created Ready, Willing...Enable! in order to match the want with the need.
