Description
The Turtle Conservancy is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to protecting the most endangered turtles and tortoises and their habitats worldwide. The Conservancy's Behler Chelonian Center is the premiere facility for breeding Critically Endangered turtles and tortoises in the United States. Since 2005 the Conservancy has combined this highly successful breeding program with conservation efforts in the wild. Recently the Turtle Conservancy was profiled on 60 Minutes and featured in The New Yorker magazine.

Education & Outreach: we support, train, and inform students, researchers, and the public.
Preservation: we protect the ecosystems and the creatures within; we maintain a captive breeding colony for a few of the most endangered species as a last line of defense against extinction and to ensure future options.
Conservation: we preserve the world's biodiversity for future generations to experience.
