Mission Statement

The Lupus Foundation of America, Lone Star Chapter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support, and advocacy.


Lupus is a serious and chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body. It can affect many parts, including the skin, joints, blood and blood vessels, heart, lungs, kidneys and brain. Lupus is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage, incurable, and potentially fatal. Current statistics indicate that lupus is more prevalent in this country than AIDS, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and cystic fibrosis combined, and it is the least known of all major diseases.

This is a great organization which is working for lupus awareness, fundraising for lupus and so on... I had the best time volunteering for this organization... It always feels good to do something for others. Please join this organization and make an effort to end Lupus now.. #Walktoendlupusnow

This would be an amazing opportunity that will not only earn me coomunity service hours for school but will be a great cause.
