Mission Statement

The Howard University Center for Urban Progress is an interdisciplinary center consisting of faculty, staff and students, which mobilizes the Howard University community to address local, national and global urban challenges through academic programs, community leadership training, applied research initiatives, technical assistance to public and private community agencies, and direct project implementation.

Description

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (Club 21) is an after-school empowerment program for DC high school students. It is a partnership between Cardozo High School and Howard University. Teens meet after-school at Cardozo to work on homework, develop self-directed learning skills, and explore creative career paths including: dance, spoken word poetry, journalism, art, and computer repair.
