Mission Statement

At Deer Run we strive to provide activities, standards and attitudes which teach self-esteem, trust, teamwork and a cooperative spirit, in addition to good citizenship relative both to our own country and to the world. We endeavor to help each individual camper gain a sense of, his or her, own personal potential and to achieve a conviction that this potential can be realized. We also seek to instill in our staff and campers a deep respect for the land, its waters and all living things, and to develop an ecological conscience which reflects our inter-dependence with all life and which acknowledges the individual's responsibility for the health of our environment and our society.

Description

Deer Run provides community organizations with a special environment where children, young adults and adults alike may experience personal development and growth. Our extensive ropes challenge course is well known for addressing such issues as self-esteem, teamwork, leadership, trust, communications and decision-making, while our environmental program has well-documented growth benefits, especially for inner city young people, who often have little chance to experience the natural environment.
Deer Run offers modern, winterized living and dining accommodations for up to 90 persons, plus 110 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, meadows, marshes and streams. In addition to our ropes challenge course and environmental program, Deer Run offers a Drug Prevention Program and our recreational options include three miles of hiking trails, a swimming pool, arts & crafts and numerous other choices. Moreover, this year we are pleased to introduce the Camp Deer Run Total Adventure Zone™, which offers a variety of on-site and off-site adventure activities. All camp programming is individually tailored to fit the objectives of any group that may come to Camp Deer Run.
