Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide compassionate care and clinical excellence for our patients and their families. To accomplish our mission, we use the palliative-care team approach to patient management.

Team members are Physician, a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Vocational Nurse, a Medical Social Worker, a Counselor, home health aides, volunteers and other services as required. We believe life is sacred and we affirm life. We understand dying as a process and therefore provide care and comfort rather than cure. Our care is based on quality of life, not length of life.

We believe that hospice should neither hasten nor postpone death, but rather provide physical, emotional and spiritual care for the patient and family during this process. We are also committed to the bereavement support for families and loved ones.

Description

CIMA hospice is a small patient oriented end of life healthcare organization. Our goal is to help patients to remain at home during their final days or months of a terminal or severely debilitating illness. The organization is required (for licensure) to obtain qualified volunteers to enhance our services within our organization. This would consist of caring companions to our patients and in helping to process their paperwork, run errands for the homebound or any other duties that the volunteers are willing or able to do as outlined in the volunteer description of this organization.
