Mission Statement

Frank Bette Center for the Arts (FBCA) fulfills the Frank Bette legacy bequest, "to be a place for meetings, readings, showings, and other creative doings."

With respect and generosity of spirit, we nurture the creative energy where fine arts, crafts, literary and musical arts meet and thrive. We build upon this legacy by nurturing the interactions between the creative arts and creative commerce; knowing that each is essential to the other.

In this way we strengthen the bonds of a healthy community.

Description

We are in our sixth year! woo hoo! We're vibrant and growing. FBCA is a wonderfully interactive place bringing art to the community and the community into the arts.

Our renovated historic Victorian, includes a gallery and space for classes and events. FBCA is an inviting place for individuals of a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and skills to learn, grow, create, network, enjoy and appreciate the arts.

The core of FBCA is our exciting schedule of monthly exhibits. Our vitality is found in programs supporting artistic growth. The dynamism is in creative partnering. FBCA is a catalyst to cultural energy and pride creating an atmosphere in which the arts thrive.

FBCA presents a practical response to integrating art into today's cultural and economic realities. Believing where art has expression, civic dialogue is stimulated, and a new sense of community is awakened.

FBCA offers programs in fine arts, crafts and literary arts including: poetry readings, storytelling, writing workshops, children's creativity activities, conversational lectures, forums, plein-air paint-outs, all mediums of artist demonstrations and classes.
