Mission Statement

The goal of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh's Housing programs is to help each woman acquire the tools necessary to become empowered to make choices leading to improved self-esteem and economic stability. We assist women with identifying and accessing services, vocational training, family support and housing in accordance with their unique needs.

Description

Bridge Housing provides transitional housing for homeless women and their children; 10 families and 6 single women at any one time. Site-based services are located in the East End of Pittsburgh. Along with dormitory-style living in which each participant or family gets a private room and shares bathrooms and kitchens on each floor, we also provide case management and life-skills assistance, coordinated recreational activities, parenting education, and an on-site food pantry.
