"United Ministries is a grassroots Christian organization guiding area families and individuals toward self-sufficiency. We share the love of Christ by serving others through the gifts God provides the agency. We strive to meet the needs of those suffering physically, mentally, and spiritually."

Description

United Ministries is a not-for profit charitable organization initiated in 1982. It was formed by a meeting of church pastors, priests, and ministers to present a unified approach to the community's need for providing emergency and temporary assistance to needy persons of the community and those persons in transit. These church pastors, priests, and ministers provided the plans and directed a group of volunteers who implemented the required assistance. This group of clergy became the first Board of Directors.


Over the years, the aforementioned group of volunteers became more and more the driving force of the organization, began serving on the board, and ultimately replaced those members of the clergy. Consequently, the need developed for more active involvement with the public leaders of the community, as well as the Churches, their clergy, and individual volunteers.
