Mission Statement

The Hampshire County Arts Council seeks to foster an art-rich environment in our community to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors and to encourage the development, recognition and appreciation of local performers, musicians, artists and writers.

Description

This all-volunteer organization organizes public performances including an annual concerts series; visual arts exhibits including monthly displays in the Hampshire County Public Library and an annual juried art and photography show and sale; an annual arts camp for 3rd to 8th grade children; takes performers, writers and artists into local schools to provide arts opportunities to students, provides a writers' group (Ice Mountain Writers) and Photographers' group that meet monthly; maintains a website; issues weekly e-mail Arts Alerts covering the county and surrounding communities, periodically publishes work by local writers; refers inquirers to local performers and artists.
