DuCAP and its IMPACT Committees are seeking community-oriented individuals to support & engage in youth-driven ideas that make an impact in their community. We organize groups of volunteers into an IMPACT support committee. Our IMPACT committees support the ideas of youth in their community and helps bring them to life. IMPACT committees are supporting positive youth driven activities, programs or events for youth between the ages of 10-17. Hours, setting, and locations for these opportunities will vary. A volunteer can be responsible for the following: ADMINISTRATIVE: Maintain Committee meeting notes Attend Committee meetings as schedule allows Help with calls and/or correspondence to community partners, participants, donors, etc. This position will report to Michelle Smith our Community Engagement Director Requirements We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting youth who want to engage with and make an impact on their community. You should: Have an understanding and support of DuCAP and its mission Complete Volunteer Registration form Complete the interest call with the Volunteer Director to discuss your skills, talents, and hobbies to find the best fit. Complete orientation training within the first 30 days For volunteers working directly with youth, a Criminal Background Check must be completed. Provided Support & Benefits A strong team environment that cares deeply for the communities it serves A commitment to youth and the community A leadership experience you can highlight on your resume while trying out various fields of interest and techniques Support from DuCAP with marketing, recruitment of volunteers, securing venues, sponsors, and possible speakers. Join DuCAP weekly on (Tuesdays) from 3pm - 5pm at the Marian Park Apartments Community Room for an after school hang out! We need support for our current program assistant to supervise, develop relationships with and hang out with the youth. Participate in games, sports, crafts and hanging out with students that attend. We have a current program assistant running the program and we need someone there to assist them. Groups welcome to apply.

At the Iowa Community Center in Villa Park, DuCAP holds a weekly "Open Gym and More" for youth between the ages of 10-15. It's open on most Thursdays from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to assist with the sign-in table and general supervision of participants. You can jump in and play, check-in youth, help with set-up and clean-up or just be a smiling face. That's pretty much up to you. You can volunteer once a week or once a month. Summer season has between 10-20 participants and the school season ranges between 12-30 youth. Volunteer traits we are hoping for: 1. Comfortable with interacting and engaging with youth 2. Able to encourage appropriate conversation and behavior 3. Willing to assist in keeping space is neat and orderly *** This opportunity can be for high school students looking for community service hours. ***
