Mission Statement

The charter of the Arts Council is to foster the Arts in the Greater Derry Area, at all levels of involvement and in all artistic disciplines. The Greater Derry Arts Council will encourage the arts to flourish in our communities by assisting and encouraging local artists and arts groups. The Council will also act as a catalyst to identify and fulfill the artistic interests of the communities we serve. The Arts Council will provide a permanent home for the Arts by improving and operating portions of the Adams Memorial Building, in downtown Derry, NH, as a community arts center (now called the Adams Memorial Opera House).

Description

The Greater Derry Arts Council is a New Hampshire non-profit corporation, organized under RSA 292. The Council was incorporated on February 18, 1993, and has received recognition as a tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, effective as of the date of incorporation. The Council is made up of its members, and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
