The GCEC mission is to develop thriving, healthy and economically viable neighborhoods; and to empower residents by providing them with the tools needed to identify and find solutions to the problems that are important to them. The GCEC accomplishes its mission through programs such as financial education, pre-employment training, small business assistance, college scholarships and programs that move individuals and families toward financial stability.
The GCEC Board of Directors is comprised of community leaders and residents from thirty-one (31) designated Renewal Communities throughout the cities of Charleston and North Charleston and Charleston County. Each Board member takes pride in helping neighborhood residents maintain a thriving place to live and do business.
