Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a safe, outdoor environment where children and adults with autism or an intellectual disability can learn lifelong recreational and social skills while their families have a respite.

Description

Camp Virginia Jaycee, a 501 (c) 3 organization, is an outdoor recreation and educational facility for children and adults with special needs.

Goals
  • To contribute to the mental and physical well-being and development of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an organized program.
  • To provide activities which develop a feeling of self confidence through accomplishment and foster a feeling of self-worth.
  • To promote the development of interpersonal relationships and social skills which help children and adults with special needs adjust happily to a world outside of their immediate family.
  • To provide the opportunity for respite to family members of children or adults with special needs.
