Mission Statement
Saving Lives by Saving Land!
The Wildlife Land Trust protects wildlife by preserving natural habitats and permanent sanctuaries.
Description
The Wildlife Land Trust preserves wildlife habitat through a variety of legal means, including the ownership of property and holding conservation easements, permanent legal restrictions on the use of property owned by others. The Trust treats all conservation easement-protected properties as permanent wildlife sanctuaries. Toward that end, the Trust's conservation easements are geared to the protection of wildlife habitat and include broad restrictions on the alteration of protected property, including the removal of vegetation, as well as restrictions on recreational and commercial hunting and trapping of any animals.
An affliate of The Humane Society of the United States, The Wildlife Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit-charity incorporated in the District of Columbia.
