Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Sonoma Land Trust develops long-term land-protection strategies for the varied regions of the county, acquires conservation easements and properties of special significance; manages preserves; works on land stewardship and restoration projects; and provides opportunities for hikes, environmental education and restoration activities. With more than 17,000 acres of valuable resource land under permanent protection since 1976, Sonoma Land Trust exists to ensure that the varied scenic, natural, agricultural and open landscapes of the region stay forever wild for the benefit of present and future generations. Get out on the land. Learn about conservation and natural resources. Join the fun.
These half to day-long outings combine exploration of our unique conservation properties with rewarding work projects. From erosion control at Little Black Mountain to native seed collection near the San Pablo Bay, volunteers get to break a sweat and gain an insiders view of our protected lands. Work projects vary in difficulty and are always followed by a fun, informative hike. Stewardship Excursions occur twice a month.
Go To Gang
The Go to Gang is a group of a dozen or so volunteers who are our on-call stewardship crew. In addition to completing routine maintenance projects on SLT's preserve properties, the Gang also responds to emergency situations such as downed-trees, blocked roads or fire hazards. Without their help, SLT staff would be swamped with the never-ending details of protecting the land forever! Time commitment is flexible; projects occur on various properties throughout the year.
Our office volunteers, friends and supporters help with a range of projects, from fundraising efforts, technical assistance, hikes, outings, to events and more. If you have a special skill you'd like to offer, please contact us to get involved!
