Description

Boys Town is the nation's largest privately funded organization serving severely at-risk children. Boys Town, founded in 1917 by Father Edward Flanagan, provides direct care to more than 46,000 children and assists nearly 1.5 million each year through its youth and health care programs. The nonprofit, nonsectarian organization provides abused, abandoned and neglected children with a safe, caring, loving environment where they gain confidence to get better and learn skills to become productive citizens. Boys Town's commitment to helping youth placed it on the list of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America's Promise Alliance in 2005. Boys Town continues to further its mission to Change the Way America Cares for Her Children and Families through its programs by partnering with communities, schools and other child-care organizations in order to meet the growing and more diverse needs of today's children and families.
