Mission Statement

The mission of the Chester County Historical Society & Museums is to preserve the significant history of Chester County SC; to tell the story of Chester County, its development, and the history of its people through the preservation and display of historic material.

Description

We operate two museums. Our Transportation Museum houses an eclectic collection of surface transportation including a Model H Ford and a 1925 school bus from the Wellridge Community.

Our Historical Society Museum & Archives houses one of the largest Native American Artifact Collections in the SE USA, an impressive fire arms collection, Catawba Pottery, Civil War Artifacts, the Henry O. Nichols Photography Collection and MORE!

Hours of Operation:

Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10am - 3pm
