We hope to provide the human victims of Domestic Violence a comfort in the knowledge that we will work tirelessly to provide for their animal companions, that they will be well cared for, treated with compassion; respect; and love until their humans are ready to take them home again.

It is the Road Home Animal Rescue's goal to provide peace of mind for the victims of Domestic Violence and to let the healing begin.

Description

The Road Home Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that is the only dedicated shelter in the state of Tennessee specifically designed to help domestic violence animals. We currently serve the needs of the Domestic Violence victims, for all 95 counties in Tennessee, by housing their pets at no cost to the victims or the domestic violence shelters.

We perform rescues of animals, (normally accompanied by law enforcement,) provide emergency and standard veterinary services when needed, and work to resocialize the animal victims. Some animals come in so abused or infectious that they must be isolated until socialized or well. Women's Centers typically will not allow the pets to go to the shelters and they are often left to starve, used to coerce the victims back or are killed by the abuser. We offer a safe haven for domestic animals, in a park like setting, where our animal friends (if able) can run free and play on our shelter grounds.
