Our mission is to empower "differently able" youth academically, culturally and artistically; to strengthen and restore families and communities; and to enhance the relationship between the "differently able" community and the "conventionally able" community.

Description

Founded in 1994, Def Dance Jam Workshop (DDJW) is an academic and performing arts training program, as well as company of pre-professional performing artists, comprised of youth and adults who are deaf, hard of hearing and physically or developmentally challenged working side-by-side with those who are not. DDJW offers a non-competitive, creative learning environment in which participants are inspired to contribute their personal best.

Through education, awareness-building, community service, workshops, lecture demonstrations and performances, DDJW seeks to empower its participants artistically, academically and culturally; to strengthen and restore families and communities; and to enhance the relationship between the "differently able" community and the "conventionally able" community.
