Mission Statement

The Collierville Literacy Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for adults to attain educational goals that enhance individual growth and benefit families, the workplace and the community.

Description

Collierville Literacy Council is a 501(c)3 agency that trains volunteers to tutor adult students once a week who need help with GED preparation and testing, reading and writing skills, and English as a Learned Language.

Our one-on-one educational services are provided free to adults, 18 and older. Tutor training workshops are also provided free to adults who want to volunteer as a tutor.

In 2009-10, 170 volunteer tutors worked with 566 adults to improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, and to obtain a GED diploma.
