Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Razia’s Ray of Hope improves the lives of Afghan girls through community-based education at the Zabuli Education Center in Deh’Subz, Afghanistan. Our nonprofit organization and school were founded in the belief that education is key to positive, peaceful change for current and future generations -- and that we must empower girls and young women through education and resources to work toward brighter futures, in their own villages and beyond.
I work for Razia's Ray of Hope Foundation, a small non-profit located in Wellesley, MA. Our mission is to fund the Zabuli Education Center located in Deh' Subz, Afghanistan. Both organizations were founded by Razia Jan, an Afghan native that lived in US for 30 years and decided to return to Afghanistan in 2008 to start an all-girls school.
We are currently looking for volunteers that are interested in teaching at the Zabuli Education Center, an all-girls school with grades K-10th. Specifically we would like someone that could teach either English or basic computer classes, or both. Room and board would be provided, volunteers would live in Kabul and stay with Razia. On school days volunteers would commute about 30 min. to the school in a shuttle bus that the school owns (this is a perk to get highly qualified teachers in Kabul to teach at the school).
At this time we can only offer this opportunity to women because of the conservative nature of the culture. Applicants will also have to interview with myself or another staff member at Razia's Ray of Hope as well as someone at the school, most likely Razia herself.
The volunteer opportunity would officially be with the Zabuli Education Center, but I am the one organizing it because I am in the States.
