Mission Statement

One Mission is a pediatric cancer foundation that does whatever it takes to get kids through cancer. We just do it in a different way. Rather than fund long-term solutions like cancer research, One Mission’s programs and services provide immediate relief from the relentless wrath cancer unleashes every single day. Programs and services that lift the spirits of patients and their families, help the healing and recovery process and make life more livable during treatment and hospitalization. All of the programs we fund directly benefit children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer, the families who support them, and the medical community who compassionately cares for them. These programs and services rely exclusively on philanthropic support as they are not reimbursable through insurance or eligible for traditional grant funding.

Description

Few things are more devastating than hearing the news that your child has cancer. Children and parents are thrust into a frightening situation for which they are totally unprepared. The founders of One Mission, Ashley and Ari Haseotes, understand full well the devastating impact of pediatric cancer. One Mission was born out of their own family’s journey with cancer. At seven months old their son was diagnosed with AML, a rare form of leukemia. They spent six months living at Boston Children’s Hospital, their lives turned upside down. Thanks to the compassionate care and expert treatment their son received, today he is cancer-free. During their journey, they identified many ways life could be improved for patients and families during treatment and hospitalization. Their experience inspired them to start a foundation that would address those needs and make life easier for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
