Our goal is to foster independence in young Children by providing them with opportunities and experiences necessary for them to become productive citizens in our community.
After-School Activities: The center is open from 10:30 pm - 6:30 pm, Mon -day thru Friday during the school year. The staff works with the students to complete homework as well as supervise physical and recreational activities. The staff uses activities that increase self-esteem, teamwork and problem solving capabilities. In addition, the students are taken on educational field trips that challenge their comfort zones.
Computer Classes: The Center provides computer training to the children, their parents and grandparents, and others in the local neighborhood who need to become computer literate. Clothes Closet: Once a month the Center holds a clothing giveaway to the community. Through the closet we also provide uniforms for some of the students that attend the center who need some assistance .
I have no way to review this opportunity, as no one got back to me when I expressed interest. It's been nearly a month, hopefully they are just inundated with volunteers. It sounds like a great program. Good luck!
