Mission Statement

As a local Sierra CLub Group, our mission is to promote appreciation of the outdoors and to protect the environment of our territory, which is Northern Virginia. We also support the goals of the Virginia state-wide Sierra Club as well as the national Sierra Club.

Description

We are an all-volunteer group, led by our Executive Committee, which is elected every 2 years. Most of our events are educational and culminate with advocacy. We get support from one or two paid staff, sometimes located in Northern VA but generally in Richmond.
