Mission Statement
OUR VISION
is for communities filled with satisfying, healthy, life-long marriages, and for the happy families these marriages produce.
OUR MISSION
is to improve the quality of marriage relationships and family life, for adults and their children. We are challenged to raise awareness of programs and services for singles and couples at every stage of pre-marriage and marriage, to increase resources available to those who are interested in improving the quality of their relationships, and to bring together like-minded individuals and organizations who will collectively work to strengthen marriages and reduce the divorce rate throughout Southeast Michigan.
Description
We are a community-based organization whose purpose is to strengthen marriages throughout Southeast Michigan. Our goals are to increase the number of healthy marriages and reduce the divorce rate. Our strategy is to raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy marriage to women, men and children, as well as to corporations and communities. We are mounting a public awareness campaign to inform people of the possibility of experiencing a stable, satisfying marriage for themselves, and to recognize couples who have accomplished such a marriage. Additionally, we are a centralized location for finding marriage education workshops, retreats, support groups and marriage-friendly therapists through our website (first web-based MRC in MI). All marriage education providers (CME's, churches and religious organizations, therapists, etc.) are welcome to post their workshops free of charge. We work to increase the resources available for couples and singles (as relationship education is for every stage of marriage and pre-marriage). In 2010, we continue working to organize all ministers, judges and mayors (who are authorized to perform weddings) into a community marriage initiative.
