Mission Statement
The mission of the CACDC is to provide justice and healing for physically and sexually abused children through interagency collaboration.
Description
CACDC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that serves child victims of sexual abuse or very serious physical abuse. The agency began providing services in April 1997. The agency works with local law enforcement, Child Protective Services, the District Attorney's office, sexual assault nurse examiners, and mental health professionals on the investigation and prosecution of these cases. In addition, CACDC provides direct services to clients, which include free individual therapy, group therapy, play therapy, crisis intervention, court preparation, forensic interviewing, crime victim's compensation assistance, and referrals to community resources. The collaborative effort helps to reduce the trauma caused by the investigative process, promote emotional healing for child abuse victims and their families, and facilitate prosecution of those individuals who perpetrate these types of crimes against children in Denton County. Some of CACDC's partner agencies have representatives that are housed in our building, and all partner agencies come to our facility regularly to provide services.
