Music in the Schools Foundation

Description

Music in the Schools (MIS)provides weekly in class music instruction by professional musicians to over 1,400 children in grades pre-K to 8th grade in the Ravenswood City School District located in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park in San Mateo County, California. Classes are general music for pre-k -5, emphasizing rudiments of music and music literacy through movement, rhythm instruments, and singing. Music in the Schools also has after-school violin programs at two schools for students in 4-5th grade, and at one school for 4-8th grades. Middleschool students at Belle Haven are enrolled twice per week in chorus.
