Mission Statement

The Women's Hearth (formerly Women's Drop-In Center), a program of Transitions, is a safe, welcoming community that promotes growth and well being in mind, body, and spirit for women of diverse backgrounds. The Hearth fosters nurturing relationships, encourages self-determination, and advocates for change in systems which oppress women.

Description

A womens drop-in center that offers a safe environment for abused and neglected women, as such, we address the concerns of women through community groups and community building activities.

Our four core values are:

Human Dignity, we believe in the dignity and inherent worth of individuals and respect their right to self determination.

Community, we believe that the fullness of each person is realized in relationship with others.

Growth and wholeness, we believe that each individual is a work in progress on a journey toward integration of mind, body, and spirit with the hope of emotional, physical, and spiritual peace.

Justice, we believe in advocating for what is right, honest, and moral both for whom we serve and with whome we serve.
