Mission Statement

The Friends of the Castle Green is a non-profit support group dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the historic Castle Green in Old Pasadena. All funds raised are used for restoration projects on the building.

Description

The Castle Green is a 117 year old building in the heart of Old Pasadena. It was originally the first annex of the Hotel Green. In 1924, the Hotel was divided into three entities: Rand's Hotel Pasadena, Hotel Green and the Castle Green. Castle Green became one of the first co-op buildings in Southern California. The seven-story building costs a large amount of money to maintain, so the Friends of the Castle Green were founded to aid in restoration costs for the building. We have received grant money for this, and we have raised more by holding two tours of the building per year.

You will be volunteering on one floor for 3 hours and it is mainly greeting guests. If you like to stay in one area with not much exercise, then this position is good for you.

Castle Green in Old Pasadena is a lovely historic site. Its residents are warm, generous people who support local artists and craftspeople.
