Mission Statement

The purpose of the Foster Grandparent Program is to provide meaningful part-time volunteer opportunities for older income eligible persons in a supportive, person-to-person service to children with special and exceptional needs. This is a mutually beneficial association. It is to this dual benefit that the Foster Grandparent Program is dedicated.

Description

The Foster Grandparent Program recruits volunteers over the age of 55 years to work with children with special and exceptional needs in schools, head start programs and child development centers. Income eligible volunteers receive a small stipend for their service hours. Volunteers also receive monthly in-service training.
