Mission Statement

Scholastic Gardens is a non-profit organization that establishes and operates certified farmers markets in Southern California. We at Scholastic Gardens believe that steps must be taken to reverse the growing epidemic of child obesity. Children are overexposed to poor eating habits and faulty propaganda that encourages them to consume food lacking in real nutrition. Our markets provide fresh, naturally-grown produce and preservative-free foods to our communities. Proceeds from the markets go toward helping local schools provide much-needed nutrition education to children. We believe that good eating habits, well taught at an early age can become good eating habits for life. Our mission is to create a better future for our youth by working to improve their health and longevity.
