Mission Statement

Our Hospice mission is to manage terminal illness so that patients may live as fully as possible until they die. Methods to accomplish this include:

~ Offering support and education to families and caregivers as they care for their dying loved ones.

~ Helping patients, families and caregivers identify their own strengths and healthy coping skills.

~ Providing support services which recognize the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of living with dying.

Patient and caregiver participation is encouraged regarding decision-making about surroundings, therapeutic management, and terminal care. Emphasis is placed on the quality of remaining life with respect for individual lifestyles and belief systems.

Description

Highline Hospice provides a special kind of care designed to provide support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Our Hospice team addresses the medical, emotional, social and spiritual concerns of terminally ill patients and their families. We offer comfort measures, pain management and symptom relief in the patient's own home, whether it be a private residence, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, or adult family home. Our Hospice team can include Nurse Casemanager, Medical Director, Social Worker, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologist, Home Health Aide, Chaplain, Dietitian, Music and Massage Therapists, Volunteers, and bereavement support.
