The Pallisa Children's Concern Project (PCCP) is a growing community-based organization working at the grass roots level to support disadvantaged children in eastern Uganda. Its aim is to provide especially vulnerable children with the opportunity to both quality education and a standard of living. Founded on 4 th August, 1999, the PCCP was officially registered as a community-based organization in 2000 in response to the large growing number of HIV/AIDS and war orphans and homeless children. Our primary school currently cares for about 350 orphans and other vulnerable children, due to social circumstance and destitution. The PCCP's main focus is in education, such as in promoting social and economic empowerment, providing vocational training, and increasing awareness of health issues, particularly in regards to HIV/AIDS. Its secondary aim is community development; at the moment, this largely translates to short-term programs that provide immediate aid to those in the surrounding community.
