Mission Statement

Vision: developing and nurturing community through joyful expressions of artistry and creativity.

Mission: To provide the various cultural communities in and around Cochrane, Ontario, Canada with a space to make art and to empower creativity. To develop a vibrant, community-based, community-run centre for the various age-groups, and cultural & linguistic communities in the area, in the hope of fostering a sense of belonging, and improving social cohesiveness and participation.





Description

Innovative approach of the projects:

We want to offer a space, where participants would be able to take an active role in community life. Participants would be able to learn from the process of creation, from interpersonal interaction and doing things together in good community spirit. One of our goals is to work towards the inclusion of marginalized people into community life through these various activities.

The Abitibi Projects is open to the wide community. If you would be interested in joining our organisation, or if you have your own ideas for the projects, let's discuss it further! We would be very happy to do more projects for the community.
