Description

We are a Jewish Community Center, that focuses on providing multicultural early childhood education and pre-school programs. Our families come from the surrounding communities of Echo Park, Silverlake, Hollywood, Atwater, and Loz Feliz. Our facility has been serving the community for 55 years, and it is in need of constant repair. Our sideyards are wild forests that require maintenance. Our physical plant is maintained by volunteer parents and we need help. Our organizing provides cultural and parenting resources for the entire community including physical excercise, karate, theatre, and Chinese cultural programming on the weekends. We are a hub for community programs and we are located in a very dense area of Los Angeles City, that is on the cusp of SIlverlake and Hollywood. We also have local nuisance properties, and transient hotels which attract an array of problems related to maintaining safety and cleanliness on our campus and in our neighborhood. We work with LAPD, and Sunset Junction and Councilman Garcetti's office and Hollywood Beautification and North East Trees to plant an urban forest, and keep this corner of East Hollywood and SUnset Boulevard beautiful.
