As the nation's largest residential, educational, and vocational program for economically disadvantaged youth, Job Corps' mission is to attract eligible young adults, teach them the skills they need to become employable and independent, and help them to secure meaningful jobs or opportunities for further education.
Job Corps is a federally administered national program that has been providing academic, social skills, and vocational training to disadvantaged young adults for over thirty years. Job Corps is comprehensive, providing housing, food, clothing and medical benefits at no cost to the students. Job Corps offers upon arrival, hands on vocational exploration that offers its students the opportunity to experience all vocations currently available. This process allows the students to better determine the vocation of their choice. All receive a modest cash clothing and living allowance while in training. In addition, Job Corps students receive assistance in job placement upon completion.
