Haywood Animal Welfare Association strives to reduce pet overpopulation by providing low-cost/no-cost spay and neuter services for cats and dogs of Haywood County and through public education. In doing so we hope to promote a community in which animals are valued, properly cared for and have a safe place to live.
HAWA's goals are:
To provide low/no-cost spay & neuter surgery for cats and dogs of Haywood County residents.
To provide pet food to low-income residents using local food pantries and for clients of Meals on Wheels.
To increase public awareness of pet overpopulation and methods of reducing the numbers of uncared for abandoned pets.
