Mission Statement

Our mission is to be an 'unconditional I'll take care of you' blanket to any man, woman or child affected by a life-changing illness. We advocate active living with compassionate, dignified, non-judgmental care; through current and future services. We draw the circle of hospice care wider by providing an open, respectful, safe environment for clients, families, volunteers, & staff.

Description

When the general public looks at the Daval Hospice brochure they see three women. If asked, who they believe to be the typical hospice client, their hand almost always points to the woman with "grey hair" without a moment’s hesitation. Terminal illness does not discriminate based on sex, financial status, family position or age. Each of these women could be a person in need of hospice care. Daval Hospice ensures that anyone walking the path of a "life changing illness" does so with respectful, dignified and non judgmental support that advocates living life in the face of death. The philosophy of "hospice" (and we believe that hospice is a philosophy not a building) is to celebrate life, be fully present, live big. Daval Hospice is one of 6 pediatric hospices' in Canada.
