Mission Statement

The mission of The Greater Bridgeport Adolescent Preganancy Program is to decrease pregnancy and early parenthood in adolescents, and reduce sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS in children, youth, women and men in Bridgeport through direct service delivery including outreach, counseling, prevention education and case management, coordination of services, resource development, and training and advocacy.

Description

The Greater Bridgeport Adolescent Pregnancy Program Inc. (GBAPP) offers culturally and age-appropriate direct services to reduce unintended pregnancy and HIV/AIDS for youth and families in the Greater Bridgeport Area. Serving the community for over 25 years, GBAPP is a community-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Bridgeport, CT. Services are free and staff memebers speak English and Spanish.

GBAPP has provided services to at-risk youth since 1980. We reach out to minority youth who have been traditionally been underserved or unserved on the streets, in the projects, and in neighborhoods and accept referrals from schools, courts and local service providers. We collaborate with city and state agenciesto offer both prevention and care services for persons living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk and high risk of the disease.
