Mission Statement

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization. For more information, please call 1-800-701.4443 or email john.mccoy@stjude.org .

Description

ALSAC was founded in 1957 for the sole purpose of raising funds for the continued support and maintenance of St. Jude. Thanks to the support of hundreds of thousands of volunteers and donors around the country, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital can pursue Danny Thomas' dream that "no child should die in the dawn of life." Public contributions are the primary source fo funds for the hospital. During the past five years almost 85 percent of every dollar received has gone to the current or future needs of St. Jude
