Description

Hillcrest is a 17-acre cemetery dating back to the late 1800's. Located off Langford Parkway and Stanton Road in East Point, Georgia, the burial ground is no longer operated by its owners and has no perpetual care fund. Maintenance has fallen to the families and other volunteers. We raise money to pay professional mowers to maintain the grounds that can be taken care of in this way, and volunteers take care of other needs, primarly clearing brush in the remaining overgrown areas. Hillcrest is the final resting place of approximately 11,000 area residents, including veterans of all services and at least six wars (Civil, Spanish-American, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam). It remains an active cemetery, with about two of burials per month in lots purchased before the cemetery office closed.
