We are seeking a volunteer massage therapist to provide massage for low income indivduals living with HIV/AIDS. Location is HIV Day Center located in NE Portland. We are a drop-in center providing meals, counseling, clothing, showers and hygiene supplies, telephones, computers, etc. We have volunteer providers who provide massage and haircuts. We can provide a private room and a portable massage table. Our clients greatly appreciate massage.

Shelter Volunteers Needed Ainsworth United Church of Christ (AUCC), 2941 NE Ainsworth St., corner of NE Ainsworth and NE 30 th, has organized an Extreme Cold Weather Shelter for the winter months. AUCC currently hosts the HIV Day Center. The shelter is primarily be open to regular visitors at the HIV Day Center. Protocols to protect against Covid-19 will be followed. The emergency shelter will be open any day that Multnomah County or Portland announce a severe weather activation. The shelter will provide a warm meal and a place to spend the night for up 15 people. We will have a Director/PIC staff person, but need volunteers to be able to open the shelter, We need at least 2 hosts at all times: Afternoon Hosts Greet people spending the night and host between 3 and 5 pm. Evening Hosts Host between 5 and 8 pm. Overnight Hosts Host overnight starting at 8 pm. Prepare a breakfast for the visitors and cleanup. Make sure all visitors are ready to go by 6:30 am. Kitchen Food Preparation Volunteer Prepare a warm evening meal and cleanup Volunteer Janitor Cleanup all spaces used by shelter visitors when they leave Shelter cleanup Clean all the pads and wash all the covers after each use. We are looking for individuals that would like to come cook breakfast for our clients! We also have positions available for just taking food orders, serving, prep food, making sack lunches and cleaning up. Our breakfasts are typically very basic and we are more than happy to train anyone who is interested. Our menu is different each day but consist of the following items throughout the week. Scrambled Eggs Pancakes Waffles Biscuits and Gravy Potatoes Hash Browns Breakfast Burritos Breakfast Sandwiches Oatmeal Yogurt Muffins We are also open to having you bring your own recipes and ideas. We provide all food items needed to cook. Food handler's permit is required but we will pay for and assist you with the process. Our drop in Day Center is looking for an individual or two that could come cut our client's hair either once or twice a month. Our clients are either houseless or low-income folx that are living with HIV/AIDS. Our past volunteer that cut hair hasn't been in since the beginning of the year. We have barber style chair, clippers, a cape, hair cutting scissors and combs. We all wear masks and gloves during all hours of operation, we will provide these materials.

Daily Bread Express (DBX) is committed to providing meals to low income individuals living with HIV. DBX is part of the HIV Services organized by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO), our other main program within HIV Services is the HIV Day Center. With the pandemic we have seen an significant increase in requests for in-home meal deliveries, and currently we do not have enough volunteers to meet the demand. The requirements for this volunteer position are: Valid Driver's License Vehicle with current Insurance ORCHARDS Background Check (Paid for and ran by EMO) At this time we are unable to reimburse for fuel, millage, and parking.
