Mission Statement
The Coit Road Farmers Market supports family farmers by providing a space to sell directly to customers and helping to promote their product. For most family farmers, this is an essential link to keeping their farms viable. We promote protection of family farms and sustainable agriculture. We also strive to combat the effects of poor nutrition in the inner city, particularly in children. Diabetes, obesity and lead poisoning are serious threats in some of the areas we serve. We bring consumers from the inner city, inner ring suburbs and outer suburbs together at our year round market and provide the opportunity to purchase healthy, locally grown foods directly from the grower.
Description
The Coit Road Farmers Market is located on the border of the Cleveland Collinwood neighborhood and E. Cleveland. 15 minutes from the west side, 10 from downtown and five from Shaker Hts and Cleveland Hts. We are one of the only year round farmers markets in the state. Located in a steel barn structure on 4 1/2 acres of land in the middle of the city, we serve people from a wide economic and ethnic spectrum.
The Coit Road Market has been described as "the homiest market in Cuyahoga County" and "the funkiest market around". In addition to local farme fresh produce we have bakers, crafters and a spice dealer.
Open Saturdays Year Round 8:00 am to 1:00 pm; Wednesdays June - October 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
