Mission Statement

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) serves more than 725,000 students attending over 650 schools at the kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school levels. Our teachers, administrators, and staff believe in the equal worth and dignity of all students, and we are committed to helping these students fulfill their potential through the highest-quality education possible.

Improving the lives of our children begins with motivated individuals like you who are willing to contribute your time and energy. LAUSD?s School Volunteer Program (SVP) offers a variety of opportunities, from reading to kids to providing classroom equipment to mentoring. Whether you're a student, parent, teacher, professional, or retiree, we invite you to come play a part in helping our schools, children, and neighborhoods thrive.

I think a lot of the success in my life is attributed to the mentors I was fortunate to have. I would like to give back and be the same positive influence to today's youth.

I would very likely recommend this organization to friends as well as to college students because there is so many new opportunites that needs our help and it would look great for college applications as well for job interviews.
