Mission Statement
From its inception in 1998, The Phoenix Ensemble has intended to fulfill a double purpose: to form a mainstay in the community as Ann Arbor's artist's resource -- helping artists to make projects happen; and to provide quality music education for students of all ages.
Description
The Phoenix Ensemble is a small, modular group that can accommodate a wide variety of musical experiences. For 2006-07, our season includes the Charles Ives American Music Festival, incorporating music and dance composed by or in the spirit of Charles Ives; the Oblivion Project, a celebration of the nuevo tango music of Argentine master Astor Piazzolla; and the sixth annual PhoenixPhest! amateur chamber-music festival. Our aim is always to leave audiences feeling enriched, inspired, and included.
