Education for Equality International

Description

EEI is dedicated to supporting girls in their journey to receive an education. We are currently beginning our work in Rajasthan, India.

In rural Rajasthan many girls have no opportunity to continue their education at the secondary level. This occurs because there is not an available secondary school in the village they live in. If a girl is able to complete primary school she does not have the chance to continue her education at a secondary school. Many girls stay at home and help with domestic work or are married at an early age.

We have partnered with an NGO in India to develop a project for girls living in a small village outside of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The first project that EEI would like to take on is opening a learning center in which girls who have not been able to enroll in secondary school can be tutored to regain the knowledge that is weak or has been lost. Once our students complete their time at the learning center we will work with our partner organization to enroll them into a secondary school and hostel in Udaipur.

EEI has plans to fund a student'S tuition fees through individual donations from fundraiser events. We believe in not only giving access to education, but also seeing that girls are given tools to improve their education.
