Mission Statement

Our mission is to work for and with low-income people to provide safe affordable housing and community-based economic development opportunities, so that our community may collectively and individually recognize its intrinsic value and realize its potential.

Description

Established in 1991 to create affordable multi-family housing in Douglas County, OR, we have expanded our services to include single-family home rehab and construction, special needs housing, homeownership counseling and education, micro-enterprise startup and expansion technical assistance and training, financial fitness training, resident services, Mutual Self-Help Housing, technical assistance to small communities to help with grant writing and administration, infrastructure projects, historic rehab, deconstruction and salvage and a used-building materials retail store, to help keep home rehab affordable. We now serve Douglas, Coos, and Curry Counties, with Regional Housing Centers in Coos Bay and Roseburg. In 2005, we initiated Paint the Town, an annual community based event to help low-income, seniors, and disabled people paint their homes.
